My Two Favorite Things This Week
June 11th, 2011

Victoria’s Secret is seriously one of my favorite places to shop online. Always the 80′s ROCKER Chic at heart, so I will never conform to the norm!
Edgy, sexy, and feminine are what I tend to lean towards. With that being said, ummm I am over 40, sooooo I have to be cognoscente of that when selecting outfits. And that is why I love VS. Not only can you find fun and flirty, but you can actually find garments with just enough cover-up to be appropriate!
The pants above are so comfortable to lounge in, and when I’m poolside it gives me a great option to wear with my bathing suit top. I paired it with the t-shirt {second pic}, to complete the flowy & billowy look. It works!
What are your choices for summer wear, where is your favorite place to find lounging attire?
Hope your week was FAB-ulous!

It’s A Gold-rush Tuesday
May 31st, 2011

After a long weekend, some of us take more time to get back into the routine of life. Lovely dinners, with champagne kisses close off this Memorial Day. And now it’s Tuesday, back to reality.
“Make new friends but keep the old ones; one is silver and the other’s gold”
Hope your Tuesday is FAB!

Bohemian Braids ~~Too Fab? Or Not!
February 9th, 2011

So what do you think of this Chic look, I think Jennie Garth pulls it off perfectly. And for those days when your hair is having a mind of it’s own, it could be just what you need. My two favorites are Jennie’s and Maria’s, the first and last picture. For me I need a little height on top otherwise I just feel like I didn’t do my hair!

Are you going to experiment with this so called new style? And how perfect would these looks be for SUMMER.

Whether you dress the LOOK up or dress it down, find your own style of braid which looks best on you and give it a try!

Romantic, soft, sexy & fun …
August 1st, 2010
Bridgett Bardot’s look always called for extreme black-rimmed eyes with glossy lips, followed by a slightly undone full head of tousled hair. The look is head-turning sexy …

Face Canvas
As always start with a perfect canvas. Apply a light foundation with a powder finish, to achieve what is known as the “natural look.”
Black Out
To create eyes that demand attention, try layering on the black makeup. First, line the eye with dark black liner/pencil on top and bottom of the eyelid. Then, layer on a sheer layer of inky black cream eyeshadow over the pencil. My favorite is Nars Cream Eyeshadow -Zardoz which goes for about $21 bones at Sephora. Blend through the crease and along the lower last line and slightly upwards and out for a subtle cat-eye effect. Then curl your lashes and top it all off with two coats of black volumizing mascara on both sets of lashes.
Pout
A dramatic eye look calls for minimal makeup elsewhere. So define the brows slightly and only apply very little blush to the cheeks. Finish by lining the lips with a liner 2 shades darker than your gloss, create the perfect pout with a dab of white eye highlighter directly in the center of the lower lip, blend slightly.
Hair
Ford Models hairstylist Jennifer Brent shows how to tease a Bridget Bardot hairstyle that can be very romantic, soft, sexy, and fun.

Hair Perfection – Easy Breezy Summer Styles
June 22nd, 2010
Both of these two styles are extremely popular right now. And nothing is more glamorous than beautiful hair, don’t you agree? Perfect summer styles, and try the second style with the oh so popular loose braid!

Wavy Chignon Sexy
Uma Thurman’s wavy chignon is a sexy way to wear wavy hair. Steal her style:
1. Work a curl-enhancing lotion through damp hair and blow dry with a diffuser, scrunching as you go.
2. Wrap the very top layer of your hair, and any strands that usually frame your face, around a half-inch curling iron to get more structured curls. Mist with hairspray.
3. Using fingers, comb and gather hair into a loose ponytail at the nape of your neck, securing it with an elastic.
4. Loop the pony into a bun, tucking in any loose ends. Pin into place with bobby pins that match your hair color. If pieces pop out, smile and let them be — the messier, the hotter.
5. Mist with firm-hold yet touchable hairspray and pull a few face-framing tendrils out in front if you like.

Side-pony perfection
For this look, hair should be brushed smooth so it’s shiny and glam. Here’s what to do:
Step 1: Back comb hair at the crown for height. Brush more hair smoothly over the top, to hide evidence that you backcombed.
Step 2: Form a ponytail on the side of your head directly behind your earlobe. “Placing it there is key because it pushes the tail over your shoulder,” Hawkins says.
Step 3: Wrap hair around the elastic to hide it and pin it in place under the pony.
Step 4: Win American Idol. (OK, this step’s a stretch, but at least you’ve got the hair nailed down.)

What’s In For 2010
January 16th, 2010
Loving all of the Fashion Trends this upcoming season, Purple the IT color, black for spring, Turquoise colored fashion is in every store, Chunky Baubles, Ruffles and Ribbons, feminine all the way!
The spring runways are flowing with light, airy fabrics from designers such as Roberto Cavalli and Peter Som. Details include pleats, tucks and beads to sheer layers in tulle, chiffon and mesh. It’s a season of the ” TRESS ” — a cross between a dress and a tunic, and it epitomizes the lightness of spring!
Ok, so let’s break this down into real talk. So here’s what I do … I go through Vogue Magazine, I watch all of the Runway Video’s put out by various designers and I think to myself, how the heck do I incorporate this into the real world? You’re certainly not going to go and buy the Futuristic Looks and walk around looking like Lady Gaga!! But, you can see a trend, tone it down, and make it yours!
Let’s start at the top and work our way down.
Hair….
Always use the celebrities as your guide, they are coiffed monthly and sure to have the latest trends! Rhianna has been influencing for a couple of years now, and this season is no different. Her short Bob with the sideswept bangs is still extremely popular! Flowing soft swept back like Jessica Simpson, goes perfect with this years Flowing and Femenine looks! And Carrie Underwoods style shows glamour and with all of the extensions we are seeing .. this style can be worn long or short!
Bottom line…Soft and Flowing
Makeup….
Eyemake, definitely one of my favorite things to play with! Illustrated above..darker for evening and lighter for day. Use the guide for definitions! Use pinks, and purples on the eyelid and define the outer eyelid with a darker shadow for contrast. Pic in the center is definitely for evening look, but how fabulous are those colors!! And don’t forget your Brows, for the complete look!
Fashion
Here is where it gets a little dicey. Remember to go through your favorite designers and incorporate to make them your own!
Ok, so here are some of my interpretations : Both of these outfites I bought at Ann Taylor.

Notice the elements they incorporate for this years designs. Sleek, Belted, FlirtyFeminine, Baubles accessorized and Belted…All of which are key components in 2010. I acentuated the color with my Bag. I have a purple Marc Jacobs bag that goes great with the Black and Grey and gives these outfits a punch of color!
And below are some styles from Bebe…my favorite casual look is Jeans w/white t shirt, and jacket! Chunky necklace to make your outfit Pop!
Waist…
In the past few years, belts have become a must-have accessory. The new year continues the trend, but belts will be simpler and less embellished. You can cinch the waist with a belt or by tucking a blouse into a trouser. But you need to embrace that the waist is going to be a focal point for fashion this spring. ”You give yourself a more feminine shape, regardless of your size, by cinching the waist.”
Ornate Necks
Belts were the “jewelry” for the outfit in 2009. But now, it’s about adorning the neck. Bib necklaces that layer and drape, like a bib, are appearing in collections from J.C. Penney to Nordstrom. But I have found the necklaces at Ann Taylor are to die for!
Load up with chains since it”s about staying strong through tough times, but the bib necklace feels more personal and artisan! How I love these new necklaces for accent pieces.
Don’t forget to take your pictures with you to the mall! Bella…….
